can anyone tell me if castrated dogs can still get hard? I have bought a young dog as a family pet but with other plans in mind. My missus has taken him to the vets who said his nuts have not dropped so should have him castrated but this is the last thing i want. If he has the chop will he be any use for sex? Grateful for any replies ta
Yes they can still get HARD. My sisters Aussie was fixed at a young age and he gets hard everytime he sees me, he rolls over on his back, and I rub him and rub and play with his pecker and he gets harder then hell.
I would say yes and no. They can still get hard but I noticed not as large as before and do not stay hard as long. I also noticed that they do not want to play like they did before. Ofcourse had somebody choped off my nuts I am sure that I would be watching a little more sports on tv and less porno.
Most castrated dog, both male and females arn't sexuall active and doesn't go into heat.I would say no, becouse you are more likely to be horny then that dog will ever be becouse they have taken away Very important organs from the dog that they need to be.. eer, horny.
My 10 year old dog had to be castrated because of a tumor. On the day before, he could, and liked. One month after, he could just get a little hard, and did not show much interest. His favourite interest now is FOOD I only had this done because of medical reasons. Can not be recommended, not even for non-zoos!
Yes they still have their eurges.. My freinds spaniel X setter (beautiful dog) was castrated at about 1yr old (although now a year later) he still mates and ties their female that comes into heat.. Sigh... if only i was THAT female...
What result a castration has on the mind and behaviour of an animal varies greatly from one individual to another. In the best cases, they are still their same old selves, in the worst cases, they can suffer from complete personality changes.
wel it can depend on the age of the dog when its castratredif it was old enough to know what his toy was for then they may still be inclined to what to use it.esp if they,d had some sexual experaince, however i,ve known intact males of adult age( for a dog) and you couldnt get them instrested in a female in standing heat that was shoving her rear in their face.the down side for a cut male (esp if he was cut before his version of puburty, even if he dose want ot hump not only will his pnis size be much smaller and it wont stay hard as long as a intact one his penis or sheath will be much dryer so it can become quite painful for him if it gets out of the sheathalso his sheath size and opening wont be larger enough for his penis to swell to its full size (even the smaller size scince he didnt go thur puberty) and his sheath opening wont be large enough for his penis to exit thur if its swollen so between that and the dryness it can be painful enough to turn him off to any playi have a older rott mox now who came to me cut and even thou he will mount and hump, he cantr get his penis out of his sheath w/o pain so i let hiim dry hump me or rub him while his penis stays in its sheath the most we can do when he wahts it is licking his penis tip as it throb at the openinghis sheath opening is so small (hes a ful sized rott/mix) that i cant even insert a finger((so it will depend on the dog in question, and both of you finding out want works or is allowedjust never pushit past what both find confortableHB58
Well you see, there is something that boggles me. My friends German Shephers was intact for some time, but he's been fixed in the long run. However, he still has as much drive as Casey does. I think it's incredibly odd. I mean he's literally hornier than Casey sometimes. I'd have to say it's entirely a possibility that a castrated dog could still get hard, and even engage sexually. Just be forewarned that any natural lubrication seems to be taken away after the fact. (Apparently the seminal fluid isn't there, but the penis seems very dry, through the entire course of the act.)
Nice discussion!I like Svansfall's comment about individual variation and Hairbear's comments about age of castration. It follows what humans are like; age of castration matters. At least with humans, history is replete with examples of randy eunuch. The male body of most animals produce testosterone in more places than the testicles. The other glands around the body will compensate a little to a lot (that 'depends on indivual' factor?) Ive also seen the "dryer" (that HB and XXX W.Wolf mentioned)syndrome amongst castrated males who often will get aroused but will let you know pretty quick that its not comfortable. Poor Dogs. But I'd like to add that giving these dogs a belly rub that doesnt Disclude the penis (the girls love it too! - vulva wise) will send them to the Elysian Fields as long as it doesnt become focalized on the cock(vulva too, the girls still like a nice vulva massage after "fixing" too)You can almost hear them going...aaaaahhhhhh! Finally! TOTAL belly massage! Canis Canto
We have a collie who was castrated 2 years ago, but when our crossbred bitch comes into season he mounts, penetrates and ties with her, and they stay tied for 10 mins. or so. Just as well for him that he can as it's the only thing that will passify her. She leaps all over him continuously until she gets her way.As for dryness, I think it can be a problem even for uncastrated dogs if you expose them to the air while they ejaculate. They should be inside somewhere hot, wet & slippery, not drying off thanks to your central heating! I suspect some of the discomfort, no, pain may be caused by the dry flesh dragging in the hair around the sheath opening as it retracts. I've thought about shaving the end of the sheath, but can't think of a way to explain it to the wife! Keep them well lubricated while they are exposed is the answer. But, yes, castrated dogs certainly do get erections, and some can appear to have full sex with a bitch, though I guess they don't ejaculate. Generally I think though that their sex drive is just reduced, but it's bound to vary greatly between individuals.
The only dogs I get to play with now are my mom's dogs. I live in an apartment that does not allow pets. They are all fixed, and I've only been able to get one of them to even come out of his sheeth enough to suck a little or play with. And he used to he quite big before he was fixed too.
Yes, Neutered males can still get an erection. Most loose the drive to mount and hump. There are exceptions to the rule though. If you grab a Neutered males penis at the base of the Knot and apply light pressure to the head with the index finger and thumb, his knot will swell. His shaft will become Semi-Erect but next to no add length. The pic below is my Late Malamute/ Wolf Hybrid. He was Neutered at 14 months of age. This is him at about 80% of his maximum erection size. He would still tie if I was to get ontop of him while he was on his back. He actually loved it.
id say it depends on the dog, i have 2 males here, both rescues thus fixed when i got em, just had one get tied to one of my females for a good 20 minutes (2nd time in as many days) the other however has no drive whatsoever.Guns
It sometimes depends on what age the dog was neutered. If a male is cut lbefore puberty he never really knows what sex is all about generallly after puberty, and if they got sex, tthen they know what is going on or in. Why do yu think they cut bulls and stallions? Too make them gentle!!!!! What you have seen in this thread does and can happen. It just depends on what time did it happpen??
Technically it is imposible, because when the testicles are destroyed, there is no supply of testosterone, and, no building blocks to maintain the male tract. The same thing that happens to us girls when getting a hystereectomy. Animals perform on instinct, so an animal castrated well into adulthood could respond to stimuli learnt, but his penis, will not be as nearly as big and hard as it should be, and psicologically he would not have more interest because hormones also imfluence the brain, what makes us different, girls and boys. I would say, if any performance, it would be dissappointing. If you are into loving your dog, castration is out.
Here is some information that you can use. Dogs all of the time after castrit do knot dogs. they are pheramone driven. and after a historectomy there are other glands that make esrtogen. But yes, castrit dogs will knot and mount. there is actually a picture thread here with dogs that are castrited knotted to a bitch.
