Though we share about 98 percent of the same DNA with our cousins in the animal kingdom there is still not enough of a match in gene pairs to make that possible. Of course I have seen some ugly babies and wondered but the chances of a sucessful fertilization the odds of it happening are too slim. For example even amoung donkeys and horses the probability of the two spiecies mating and giving birth is extremely low and when it does happen the mule they have as offspring is incapable of reproducing and that's only because donkeys and horses share more similar DNA than apes and humans do but since it is not a perfect match nature does away with the flaw by not allowing it to reproduce any further.

Just curious, because near us are a couple. They sure are cute. Nerp
