This is something that I have wondered for a long time. How many true zoo's are there out there. I feel compelled to ask this especially with the amount of disergard for an animals well being that I see. Are you a true zoo. Meaning... does love come first. Zoophilia is the love of animals. With or without sex while Beastiality is just sex with animals. Please answer honestly. This is by no means set up to discriminate against peoples beliefs I am just curious.

Hello. Ok sorry for got to add to this. I do consider my self to be a zoophile. My love for my animals is so strong. Sex is something that will always come last if at all. Compared to the love that we share the act of sex does not compare. Love is what binds us together.
Zoo / beastilist are just more labels.....As for what I am,, A lover, friend, companion, mate.... every thing she wants, needs me to be...My dream is to meet a MiniMare who will love me, as I would Love her, and to marry her, so we could share eachothers lives together without feare of the selfrightus basterds, who will invetably try to inflict..... Well, I don't call myself either these days.Zoophilia is a love of animals, no more than that. Bestiality is sex involving animals with a human, no more than that. In my personal view of my self and my mate, both are too broad and non-specific to describe the reality of our relationship. First, I don't love "all" animals, nor even most. I love an individual, or individuals. Therefor, "Zoophile" falls short of description for me."Bestialist" is also an incomplete, for the same reason. I have sex with individual partners, not with animals in general. Nor do I have a sexual attraction to animals in general.So, though I am both a zoophile and a bestialist by their definition, I am neither by their definition. At any rate, in general use neither term is mutually exclusive or mutually inclusive. I can say that love allways ment more to me then sex (i know the usual blablabla )Right now i have only one mate, my current dog, i neither have the opportunity nor the chance to switch or change my mates. I concider myself a true zoo. There isn't anything that I wouldn't do for an animal. I don't know if this would qualify for a reason, but there have been times in my life where I have would more than wilingly have offered my life for horses that have died. Was in one accident, where I was riding and were hit by a car, and even though not at fault, I did and do feel that I would have swapped places with him. The same happened this year, as we had a old gelding break its leg in the paddock, and even though I don't like his owner, I still felt that he still had a few good years left in him. I have very strong feelings towards animals, specially to equines as they have given meaning to my life, they have also given me better selfasteem and selfconfidence.
I thing Zoo is a loving relation with your pet with sex as part of the relation. Beastility is exploytation of animals for sex. Sadly dogs live about 14 years. I have out lived 3 lovers. I have two dogs now. I love them, they love me. We enjoy many activitys including our sexual activitys. It is Sunday morning, they want to go for a romp in the forest, I can tell, we understand each other. We better go play in the forest now.
In Zoo you love the animal that you are having a sexuall.. err, experience with and notice if your hurting it and takes care if it gets hurt. Beastalists just have sex with the animal, right of nothing more.Zoo good..beast not.cheers

I share my home and my life with animals that I love. It has always been this way and it always will be. However I am also sexually aroused by dogs and since at the present time (because I live in a rented apartment) I am unable to share my home with a large dog, I therefore seek out the animals of other people for sexual gratification since I also don't have a human in my life to meet these needs. I am uncomfortable in the fact that I sometimes let my lust take over but the uncomfortableness is not so great as to stop me. I do, however, keep this to a minimum. If at some time in the future I am again able to have a larger dog as part of my home and as my lover then all outside seeking will cease. I therefore label myself a zoo

I consider myself a zoophile. Sex is not the most important thing in my relationships with either people or animals, but it's a nice thing to do if the relationship supports it.I generally like/love a new animal I've met until I have a reason not to. I usually guardedly like a new human, but I'm more suspicious unless we just naturally "click." So I definitely feel I trust animals more than humans I'm trying to work on trusting people more... I'd love to approach new people with the same openness I do with animals. But so many animals seem deserving of this trust, and so many people don't...

I think, that i am a true zoo. In the beggining i refused to have sex with mares, altough the urge inside and the growing love was very strong. And then i've lost control. But ofcourse nowadays i'm not only having sex with my lovers. But i never force a mare to have sex with me. It's absulutely her choice, and not someone else's. And anyway, i love and respect all horses. And there is the point, where i have to think a little... I'm NOT a true zoo! In my eyes most animals are inferior. I'm only respect horses. I find most animals superior, even my BF though I must say that he can't behave as bad as he does at times. I won't allow any situation get dangerous, which has happened slightly a few times lately, but could be that he feels it's spring time cumming close. This is a strange question. I do feel that I could love one animal to the exclusion of all others. BUT I also support animal experiments under the "NO other option/NO undue pain" heading. To me the emotion behind the sexual act is a very very importand and powerfull part. Without it couldnt imaging to enjoy it completly, there would always be a part missing... It is a strange question, simply because the assumption of and definition of "True zoo" is rather ambiguos and bound only by individual opinion.I don't feel exclusivity or one deep emotional attachment to be what defines a "zoophilic" label on others I meet online. (and we all label each other, honestly) Rather, what tells me "This person IS a zoophile" is a level of respect for and concern for his/ her animal partners. A person who looks out for the safety, health and security of their animal partners, shows concern for other animals, doesn't put self gratification above the needs AND desires of the animals they come in contact with....that to me is a "true" zoo, wether having one or many or no sexual partners, wether in a deeply emotional or just a "friendship" type relationship. Thats what matters IMO.

Well, I'll stick my neck out and say I don't consider myself a "true zoo" or even a zoophile. I'm basically your average str8 guy, I guess: doing some dating, wondeirng if something will happen with one of my female friends, and hoping that one day, one of my girflriends or flings or whaterver will "stick" and become something serious. I generally "like" animals, and have been emotionally attached to various animals, far more of them than the few that I have had sex with. I belive many animals experience emotions and attachments for human companians. I enjoy playing with dogs in a non-sexual way, and have many times plesaantly curled up on a couch, snuggled up with a friend's or roommate's dog.That said, I've had, and have, a definite physical / sexual attraction to certain animals, indiviually (some female dogs) and as a species (female dolphins and deer, I think are particulary sexy) The few dogs I've been intimate with were animals I'd known for some time and liked. The sex was always consensual and I would not ever force myself on an animal, in the same way that I'd never physically or emtotionally beat or torture one. The easiest way to explain it is that I seemed to view these dogs almost as I would view a "casual" human sex partner: we're comfortable with each other, I was attracted to her, and she was a willing partner (I don't knwo if a dog is "attracted" to a human sexually, which is why I didn't say "she wanted me, too" but the one dog with whom I'd had sex on many occasions truly appeared to me to be enthusiastic and excited when we began to fool around). So where that puts me on the scale, or what label that means I should wear, I don't know, or really care too much about.

As long as you cared for the animals and would never harm them then you are a true zoo. I know that knowbody cares for labels but you should consider yourself to be a true zoo. Not being zoo exclusive has nothing to do with being a zoophile. You care to much for animals to be a beastialist. You are a zoophile.
Well, ---2---, I've been called a lot of things over the years, but "zoo" isn't one of them. I'll take it as a compliment. Using yuour definition though, and I really don't see anythig wrong with it, it seems to me that alot of people would fit into this category, most pet owners, for example, although most of them never have sex with their pets. But I guess the real question is sort of the converse: even if most people who are "zoo" never have sex with animals, are most people who do have sex with animals "zoo"? I would guess that people who are zoo, or let's just say, people who like animals, would be more likely than those who don't like animals to at least experiemnt with sex with them. This is sort of what happened with me, at first. Then, I suspect that there are alot of people who, as teenagers or young adults, had a pet or access to other animals, such as a farm or a friend's pet, and engaged in sex with an animal once or a few times, but although they may have enjoyed it, did not continue it for various reasons. They may have felt guildty about doing it, and more so about enyoing it, or they may have been only curious, and, frankly, just plain horny, and the animal was a convenient (and we hope, willing) partner. Then I guess, there are those who are "zoo exlcuive" (or predominantly zoo?) who look to animas for companionship, relationships and sex as, and I hate to use this word, but - an "orientation." I profess, I am pretty much ignorant in this regard. Though I will say, I have never met an animal that was an a--hole or that I hae disliked the way I do some people. So maybe these folks are onto something. Then maybe there are those of us who like animals, and enjoy sex with them, but for whom it is simply fun; a casual, although intimate and respectiful activitiy. I guess I'd put myself here.Now I don't know about those who just "use" animals for sex. Maybe some people have sex with animals that are willing, or at least indifferent, and aren't concerned with whether the animal enjoys it. I sort of think of stories you hear of kids having sex with cows and sheep on the farm growing up...just a way to get off. (Not to slight anyone who does this...for all I know the sheep and cows could really like it, and I can't imagine that a teenage boy could really "force" a 600 lb. cow to do anything she wasn't willing to do) The point being that maybe here the animal is just a convenient partner, and while its human lover doesn't intend to harm it in any way, and would be upset if he did, he is really only concerned with his own pleasure. Some people certainly act this way with their human lovers, so I suspect it wouldn't be any different if their partner was an animal. Sorry, rambling here. But it is an interesting topic.

Hello Dogger37. You are right this is indeed a very interesting topic. It covers such a large range of emotions and feelings towards animals. Personally I am zoo exclusive. I don't think that I will ever again be able to trust a person. I have found how much love an animal can have towards a human, and that love is pure. The purest that I have found as it is so natural. You can find a lot of my history in the pages of this forum spred through out different threads. Also I have no sexual interest in humans. Only in animals.I agree so much with what you wrote of people being zoophilies and not even realizing it. Many people have a deep love for their animals. Just because they do not take that love to the next step, does not make them any less of a zoophile. I have not had sex with an animal in the past for a couple of reasons. The first being that my dogs have shown no interest in doing so. I would never do something that they did not want. Secondly I would feel bad having sex with an animal that I did not know. I feel very much that sex should come as a result of a loving relationship. Without the love it just seems so hollow.when I started this post I had not thought about the varying degrees of zoophilia and beastiality for that matter. For the sake of simplicity I just wanted to make 2 category's. Either zoo or beast. You my friend definately fall under the zoo side as you care for the animals that you are intimate with. That fits well into the definition of a zoo.

Although many among us ere not aware, there's a great difference between zoophilia and bestiality. Zoophilia comes from the ancient greek, and means "animal love". When you love a boy or a girl you also feel the need to make love with him/her. The same way, zoophilist make love with his/her pet. Bestiality is just the habit of having sex with animals and is sometimes considereted as a kind of perversion.

Bold Question! Definitely Zoo by stated definition. I'd like to ask that of anyone of anysexuality. The essence of that question is; Do you primarily see sex as a personal or shared experience? Is your concentration mostly on your own pleasure or is part of your own pleasure providing pleasure to others? If you asked that question of the general population about sex in general, and people answered honestly, those figures would be reversed. Thats what I like about what Im seeing at this site. Since it involves animals and people who love them, there is an inordinate number of LOVING sexual people here. (In a site dedicated to Zoophilia... who'd a thunk it?) Sex, as defined by our clearly sexually ill-culture, is a commodity(as is everything), so most people out there treat it that way. Nice to see the reverse here. I can say with 100% certainty that I'm a zoo. I have a deeper love for my dogs than anything I've ever felt for another human. I would sacrifice my life for them if that says anything, and I would starve before letting my dogs. Sure I have periods of bestial lust that go through my head when I see a beautiful well-hung dog, but I would compare this to someone who is in-love with another person but still likes to window shop.
I am a zoo. My girl is my life partner first and formost. She is too small for sex and is "broken" anyway but as I face the possibility of becomming homeless I have promised her that she is the last thing to go. I would rather live homeless on the street with her than in a shelter without her

True zoo here. Dogs have been my greatest passion throughout my entire life. Was only natural I'd be romantically attracted to them. Just as much a part of me as the color of my eyes or my personality and something I can change no more than I can change those things. I am deeply in love with my lovely Labrador girl, a love that brings me so much joy. I wake up every day thankful that I am zoo and that I have such a wonderful girl to share my life and love with. I have always been 100% zoo. Even though I had sex with a man years ago and I generally enjoyed it I have never been attracted to humans and I never did it again. I tried with a woman one time but it only confirmed me that I was born this way. Anyway I like spending time with my friends and I enjoy talking to other people, so I think that I'm not anti-social.
I have loved my pets and I have had sex with more than I can remember, sex was not the only reason I kept a canine as a pet, but if the opportunity arose I did not refuse his advances.

clearly I'm a zoo and proud of it, love my girls and boys. if sex is not in the relashionship then I will continue to love my dogs as much as I love the ones that do like sex. I find more joy getting my dogs off then myself. I protect and love my dogs and I know they do the same.if anyone other than myself lay a hand on my dogs then they know I will lay one back. my girls love sex only with me and will turn away other males(dog males) and when females(human) try to "get" with me then my girls will push and shove them away, and I love how they express their love for me to the world (if only NORMAL people could see what we see, I think things would be different.)anyways I love my dogs, I could never see myself without a companion and mate. I was born this way and am fine with that.
Said it before and I'll say it again. I have to be a zoophile because after almost 3 years I'm still here. Still love dogs more than anything else, in spite of having no intimate contact with them. Also in spite of trying early on not to be zoo. Trying to squash the attraction as if it were a conscious choice. It may be for some, but it isn't for me.Even in real life, girls have told me they like me, but I just can't get into them. I don't find humans attractive, physically or otherwise. Only dogs.

Well I voted "true zoophile", but I wasn't quite sure. I can feel real love for animals, but sex is also an important thing.

I have several small pets where sex would be impossibe. I don't love them any less. I can't imagine losing them because they are my best friends. Many would consider their pets more than just pets. Maybe as Family, Friends, or Lovers. A loved pet is a happy pet.
