I am personally a omnivore. I love meat but ever since I admited to myself that I actualy LOVE animals ( mainly my dog) I have eaten much less. meat is now mostly just for flavor or to help give a meal substance and is used in small moderation.I was just wondering about the rest of you I know many ofyou love animals as well and just wondered how it affected your eating habits.
responding isn't a bad thing and it helps us get to know eachother. plus I'd love to know what kinda foods people eat. I am a food lover so please respond
I like critters they taste good. lol I eat rabbit food once and a while, but I am pretty much a meat and potatoes kind of person.
If we weren't supposed to eat cows why are they made out of meat?
I am an omnivoir - I eat my rabbit food like a good boy but I also eat a fair share of grass - ( AFTER) it has processed into a cow! As for eating meat I do that but I never forget to be thankfull for tha animal that gave it's live to be on my plate.
A balance diet is so good for me.yes, i like meat and I love vegetables and fruit. The only thing I really don't like meatwise is brains. (eeeeeeew)
I love all animals and don't believe it is ever right to stop a beating heart (except in defense of other life). I am a herbivore.
Can a human live on just MEAT?
living on just meat is kind of like being a vegan I would guess. where you have to take certain supplements to get the right nutrition that you normally would get from the food you don't eat. and in all honesty I'm surprised there are not more herbivores.

You eat your share of grass after it has been processed by cows? you like to eat cow-shit??? I am an omnivore, but I don't eat meat every day. (I use meat replacement then).
I am 99% certain human beings could not survive on meat alone so a carnivorous diet is just not gonna happen. I love my meat though. I eat it every day and if I have to have a meal without meat in it I don't feel like I have had a proper meal. I also flat out refuse to eat the meat substitute stuff . I could happily raise my own animals for slaughter and could happily hunt and kill something to eat it.
I don't think I could raise an animal for slaughter. I would probobly get too attached. plus I don't have the heart to kill.
You need both to live healthily

I'm an omnivor. Always have been and expect to always be.LtD
Omnivore.Eat less meat than I used to; my body ain't what it used to be. Rule, tho': I don't eat my buddies. I just don't feel like eating anyone I've looked in the eye. Somebody else's critter, OK, but I'm not going to eat someone I know.

I could happily raise my own animals for slaughter and could happily hunt and kill something to eat it. In reality there are few real totally carniviorous creatures, Even wolves and big cats eat plant matter. Wolves when they make a kill tear open the belly first and it is the plant matter in the gut they are after and it is well known that foxes eat berries. Find a k-9 that does not chew on sticks both a source of plant fiber and enjoyment (chewing gum for dogs) and both cats and dogs are known to eat grass to aleiviate stomoch distress and hungry animals will eat just about anything that will go down the pipe. Even Sharks - the eating machine of the deep will eat algee, a plant. A human that does try to live on meat alone should expect a short life as the fats and cholesterol will plug up your arteries rather fast and you will have a very low iron and calcium counts. You will have a hard time rebuilding your blood cells and may be a bleeder and low calcium can lead to scurvy and brittle bones (you will become swaybacked, bow legged and brittle as cheap glass)

Aw come on - I suspect you eat your buddies more than you admit! - I do. I eat her out on a regular basis and she still gets to keep all the parts!
I don't believe in ever killing animals (except humans). I would kill a person way easier and sooner than an "animal".
Three veg and meat at least once a day.
QUOTE I eat it every day and if I have to have a meal without meat in it I don't feel like I have had a proper meal. I also flat out refuse to eat the meat substitute stuff I agree 100%, it isnt a meal without meat.Cut off the horns, wipe its butt, walk it past the grill and put it on my plate with a side of potatos and a salad.
I don't eat meat with every meal, but i'm not about to give it up.
hey burgers usually have lettuce and tomato on them.
I can't live without meat of any kind. And yes, if I were offered dog meat I would eat that too.
I would really love to give up eating meat as I dont like the idea of animals giving their lives just so I can eat. I gave up meat for 6 months this year but for some reason I have just started eating it again - and yes I feel guilty for it. I enjoy meat substitutes and I think if I lived with a vegetarian I could quite happily be one - I just need someone to keep me on the straight and narrow!
Humans are by simple exam of our teeth designed to eat foods that both require grinding (plants) that is why we have big flat teeth (like a horses teeth) in the back to crush and grind but we also have sharp pointed teeth (4 of them called the k-9's) in front for tearing and ripping like a dog or wolf which also indicates thet the creator intended that we eat a variaty of tissue types.
QUOTE (beavis69 @ Sep 3 2010, 04:11 AM) I can't live without meat of any kind. And yes, if I were offered dog meat I would eat that too. How dare you?! The only kind of meat I would eat ever is human. People are such worthless beings compared with animals. You would be the first on my plate.
People who have accepted themselves the fact that they are zoos may have already alleviated the social status of other animals as lovers. They have at least recognized their beast lovers as a sexual partner, apart from other mental attachments and bonds.Accepting the status of being an omnivore or a carnivore is a way to admit that one simply takes or recognize animals as a natural source of food. Some refers to God-made or a result of the evolution, or a tradition. What we are talking about here is more than the concept that “precedent can prove no wrong.”Ecology has nowadays become a fad; everyone is talking about it. Animal right activists are in the forefront about speaking for all non-human animals for their rights. While hunting of wild animals and extinction of a wide array of species are recognized, animal farming, slaughtering, processing, and marketing animals for food by abattoirs, packagers, canneries, and supermarkets have served us a way to avoid or to kick up such a guilty feeling of devouring on other non-human animals. How about zoos who accept themselves as an omnivore or a carnivore? Do they feel any guilt of devouring on other non-human animals while accepting some beast at an intimate social status? It can be a conflicting mental and social issue, isn’t it?Isn’t it easier to accept ourselves as a non-zoo and anti-zoo who enjoy our status of being an omnivore or a carnivore? These individuals surely play it safe, being with the largest group in human society, and are less likely to be criticized in any way possible. Sorry for the digression.
I eat both. Couldn't see myself not eating meat.
I love cows, chickens, and pigs. They're delicious. I can do without fish, though, but I'm getting better. Also, veggies can be just as delicious. Like others here, though, I could kill an animal. But I'll happily take what I find for purchase in your local store.
Omnivore, Cant turn down a piece of meat
I am an omnivore... I enjoy a range of foods, from various meats to veggies, fruits, and sweets, of course! My only problem is making sure I eat a balanced diet.
Omnivore for sure. I absolutely love beef jerky! On the flip side, I love vegetables as well.
