So I'm getting a male Australian Sheperd from some friends. What I am wondering is, will this breed of dog attack me if I start to "touch" it in that special way, haha. Or is this breed going to let me do whatever? How does one actually get a dog to mount them? And will this breed of dog do so?Thanks!
to the forum! You need to spend some time studying the pinned topics at the top of this and the FAQ forum. Many of your questions will be answered there. All dogs behave differently, even within the same breed, and you'll just have to find out over time how you and the dog bond. I wouldn't even worry about the sexual stuff until you and the dog get to spend some time together. Take to dog for walks, play, teach some obedience, become the best of friends. Over time you and the dog will bond and you will have a better idea of how to proceed with the sexual stuff. In the meantime, spend an hour or so a day reading some of the threads here that interest you--there's a lot to learn. Good luck with it!
Dogs will growl if you touch them and they don't like it, then you back off. You will need to spend time with the dog and get to know him, you can't just jump in and have sex with a dog. All dogs are different so we can't really say do this and this and this and it will work 100%, it's different with dogs as it is with people. Most of the information you will need are here in the forums already, use the search function and the pinned topics, especially in the How-To section as I have used that and it worked very well. The rest of the information you will have to learn from your dog, learn him and his personality. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you

If for no other reason than to allow periodic inspection/ cleaning/ treatment any well adjusted male dog should have been taught that human hands will not hurt his meat BUT way too many people ignore or avoid this for whatever reason. If this dog is younger start slow with just monor contact untill you get to know his response. If he is mature and has never been touched you have a LOT more work to do and may never be able to touch him (in that case, I personally would pass on the dog but that is JMHO). Each dog/ bitch is different and they should be allowed a say in wheather or not they are touched in a sexual manner but they should be confident enough allow veteranary exam (just like us two footers) - I am not fond of having my Dr examine my parts but there are life changing matters that can occur that need to be monitored.

Every dog is different, she may hump you or she may attack you, you NEED to get to know her first and go slow to see what she likes and dislikes, focus on doing what she likes. And never do what she doesn't like (thats how avoid going to the hospital to reattach your penis)
The Ausie Shepherds I've known were very friendly and people oriented. If he has been castrated, he will not be able to perform however. As for your other questions, reading through some of the pinned topics at the top of the howto's section will answer them very nicely.Good luck,LTD
I have been around many Aussies and have yet to come accross one inperson that was not a nice dog (including the bitch I used to have) but bad ones do exist. They are a versitile herding breed that often needs to be flexible enough to herd the ducks to the pond in the morning, the delicate skinned sheep to the grassland in the afternoon and hardheaded enough to boss around a nasty bull in the afternoon then chill out with the kids by the fire after dinner. They do come in quite a range of size so their ability to be human sex partners is going to vary a lot but they do make nice pets!

Neither of mine would ever attack me. Incidentaly my first experiance was with a castrated male Aussie he didn't have any trouble performing...As for bitches though they are really small doubt you could have anything but external contact.

like others have said take time to get to know your dog. but after a while you'll know if the dog is interested in more than a friendship and if the dog don't want sex then stop.
